This 1971 DeTomaso Pantera has been refinished in white over gray, and its rebuilt 408ci V8 is paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 17″ wheels, Corvette disc brakes, modified control arms, an aluminum radiator, harnesses for the bucket seats, and a larger fuel tank. The current owner acquired the car from P.I. Motorsports of Orange, California in 2014 following a period of storage, after which the engine, transmission, electrical system, air conditioning, suspension, steering, and brakes have been overhauled. The owner has since participated in the Copperstate 1000 in Arizona twice as well as the Going to the Sun Rally in Montana. This modified Pantera is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with service records from current ownership, a technical manual, a Deluxe Marti report, and a clean California title.

The car was delivered new in White (3) and was refinished by P.I. Motorsports in 2015. Exterior features include slim chrome-finished bumperettes, front and rear mesh grilles, and quad exhaust outlets. A Copperstate 1000 decal from 2017 is affixed to the passenger-side fender, and the paintwork and exterior trim are shown up close in the photo gallery below.

Silver-finished Campagnolo-style 17″ wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires in sizes 225/45 front and 335/35 rear that show 2014 date codes. The seller notes that Corvette-sourced brakes were installed by P.I. Motorsports along with a replacement steering rack, and the front control arms have been modified.

The interior features bolstered bucket seats with gray leather upholstery and lighter inserts. Black carpeting is protected by Pantera-branded floor mats. The electrical system and the air conditioning were overhauled by Hall Fabrication & Racing of Benicia, California in 2018. Other features include black four-point harnesses as well as a gated shifter.

A Lecarra steering wheel sits ahead of green-letter Veglia instrumentation that includes a 200-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,900-rpm redline, and four auxiliary gauges in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 47k miles, approximately 5k of which have been added by the current owner over the past five years.

The 351 Cleveland–based 408ci V8 was rebuilt by Prestige Motorsports of Concord, North Carolina in 2017. Dynamometer results from 2018 indicate that the engine produced a peak output of 460 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque, which is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The transaxle was rebuilt in 2018, and an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans has been added. Hall Fabrication overhauled the fuel system and installed a larger tank in 2018.

Receipts from P.I. Motorsports indicate that the underside has been refinished in black. Hall Fabrication replaced the exhaust system in 2019.

Eighteen pages of receipts accompanying the vehicle are pictured individually in the gallery. The total sum paid to Hall Fabrication & Racing since 2016 is said to surpass $150k.

The Deluxe Marti report lists the color scheme, build statistics, and a production date in November 1971.
