Charter and Core Strategies
The Young Professional Group (YPG)'s mission is to enhance the AIAA value to Young Professional (YP) members by supporting professional development opportunities, recognizing superior achievement, and encouraging greater participation. The group collaborates with other AIAA groups and committees in the development of policies and programs affecting YPs. YPG has two committees: Event Planning and Engagement.

 •  Be the thought leader in technology and capability advancement strategies for Young Professionals
 •  Provide support, opportunity, and networking opportunities for Young Professionals

• Planning and execution of events held outside of Forums and/or collaborations with other organizations’ events when needed
Committee Membership
In order to remain in good standing, YPG committee members will participate (in person or virtual) in meetings in addition to being active with additional YPG committee responsibilities. YPG members will reply to electronic vote requests for topics when required.
Full Group Meetings
The YPG meets face-to-face one time per year at one of the AIAA Forums. In person attendance is not required and virtual capabilities will be available. Typically, there are regular committee meetings each month/bi-monthly via a virtual meeting platform. We attempt to have a second YPG meeting which is virtual based, but also aligned with a Forum in order to allow those members who are present to meet each other face-to-face.
Group Responsibilities (Regardless of Chosen Committee)
The YPG members-at-large are responsible for the following specific efforts:
 • Attend and participate in committee meetings or provide input prior to meetings if unable to attend
 • Participate in chosen committee
 • Notify the Chair if unable to complete a task
 • Identify problems and provide suggestions for improvement
